Royole FlexiPai is the first folding mobile in real world

Royole FlexiPai Foldable

The Rouyu FlexiPai is the first folding phone in the world and starts at a nothing cheap ¥ 8999 (~ $ 1290 ). Royole, a brand that you probably have not even heard of, has been ahead of all market benchmarks such as Samsung, Oppo or the prototype HubblePhone.

A Chinese manufacturer who has probably never heard of has beaten the giants of smartphones in the race to launch the first phone with a folding screen. Rouyu Technology launched the FlexPai, the first folding phone with a flexible screen.

The world's first commercial smartphone, a combination of mobile phone and tablet, with the ultra-thin and fully flexible screen of the second generation of Royole. By disrupting the traditional concept of consumer smartphones, the unit can be used either folded or unfolded, which gives the portability of a smartphone plus the size of the screen of a high-definition tablet.

Rouyu FlexiPai

FlexPai can be folded from 0 to 180 degrees. Say goodbye to rigid surfaces; FlexPai will completely change your perception of a traditional mobile phone and the need to own multiple mobile devices. Deployed, FlexPai provides a large, tablet-sized, 7.8 "full-color screen that fits easily in your pocket. Never sacrifice a large screen to enjoy mobility again, with FlexPai you have the best of both.

The FlexPai is not only the first mobile device with a folding and flexible screen but also the first mobile phone that works with the not yet announced Snapdragon 8150, also known as Snapdragon 855.

The FlexPai has a 7.8-inch high-definition screen and is said to have a thickness of only 7.6 mm. The exact resolution is not indicated and we do not have information that specifies whether the screen is LCD or AMOLED.

The device comes in three configurations: 6 GB + 128 GB, 8 GB + 256 GB and 8 GB + 512 GB. It also has dual rear cameras: a 16MP wide-angle lens and a 20MP telephoto lens. The camera is on the left side when the device is flat.

Rouyu Technolgy also says that the device is compatible with a patented fast charging technology called Ro-Charge that can charge the device from 0 to 80% in 1 hour. It is said that Ro-Charge is 40% faster and has an efficiency rating of 94% and also has 3 layers of protection. However, they did not indicate the capacity of the FlexiPai battery.

The FlexiPai is not cheap. The 6GB RAM version has a price of ¥ 8999 (~ $ 1290, to the change about 1139 euros), the model of 8GB + 256GB will sell for ¥ 9998 (~ $ 1434, to the change about 1266 euros ), and the version of 8GB + 512GB jumps to ¥ 12999 (~ $ 1864, to the change about 1646 euros ). There will be a flash sale tomorrow at 10:01 AM local time. Compliance with the order will begin at the end of December 2018.

Royole FlexPai, this would be the first folding smartphone on the market

Neither Samsung, Huawei nor LG, the first company to launch a folding smartphone would be Rouyu Technology, although it must be recognized that the smartphone has little, it is more a tablet than anything else.

As shown in a video, the Royole FlexPal would be the first folding smartphone on the market, and although the rendes look pretty good, at the time of truth not so much, because when folded, it is still a pretty large device and thick to put it in your pocket, not to mention if we sit down unintentionally, could end up hurting. To this is added that the screen has no oleophobic coating, so the fingers will remain very marked.

The person in China called Rouyu Technologies is not a stranger, he had already released flexible screen devices, including immersive video headphones, and even t-shirts with flexible screens. FlexPai, on the other hand, seems to be its first smartphone. And if we believe the first who could take it in hand, the model unveiled to the Chinese press looks like a pre-series, finishing still perfectible, as if the manufacturer had wanted to leave it quickly enough to cross the line the first.
