According to the Sétimo Arte portal, this biopic will situate its action between the early 70's, when Queen was created, and the mid-80's, when the group played in 1985 at Wembley on the occasion of Live Aid.
In turn, the synopsis of the film describes it as a thrilling celebration of Queen, her music and her extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and destroyed conventions to become one of the most beloved artists in the world.
The film follows the meteoric rise of the band through its iconic songs and revolutionary sound, its imminent implosion once the Mercury lifestyle gets out of control, and its triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, who faced a terminal illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. And, in the process, the consolidation of the legacy of a band that was always more like a family, and that continues to inspire the marginalized, dreamers and music lovers to date.
It should be remembered that the band was on stage for almost two decades, until the tragic death of Mercury in 1991, because of HIV.
The cast of the film will be composed by Rami Malek, who plays the singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury, Joe Mazzello as John Deacon, Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor and Gwilym Lee as Brian May.
