Briton Mo Farah won the Chicago Marathon on Sunday, scoring his first win in the distance with a European record in 2 h 5 min 11 sec (unofficial time).
The Olympic and world champion of 5,000 and 10,000 meters,
progressively passed from the track to the road in recent years, only competed
for his third marathon.
The British Mo Farah has not only achieved victory yesterday
in the Chicago Marathon, one of the most
important in the world but has broken the
European record of distance.
The athlete of Somali origin stopped the clock in 2h05: 11, greatly improving the continental top set in December last year by the Norwegian Sondre Nordstad Moen (2h05: 48). Farah now has the European records of 1,500, 10,000 and marathon.

Mo Farah, four-time Olympic champion (5,000 and 10,000m), competed
this Sunday the Chicago Marathon. The Kenyan Brigid Kosgei has won the women's
triumph (2h18: 35), achieving the tenth best mark ever in the marathon
distance.
An excellent marathon in London in April (3rd in 2h6'21 ''),
the four-time Olympic champion (5,000 and 10,000m) Mo Farah will be the
headliner of the Chicago Marathon this Sunday (departure at 14: 30, French time). The Brit is aiming for the
European record of Norway's Sondre Moen (2h5'48 '' in December 2017) and
victory.
For the clock, rain could interfere and blur the cards as in Boston in
April, when the Japanese Yuki Kawauchi, present in Illinois, had won. For the
second goal, he will have to face the young Ethiopian wolves Mosinet Geremew
and Birhanu Legese, in 2h4 'in January in Dubai, and former winners Dickson
